The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants weren't exactly getting NFL fans excited for their Thanksgiving matchup on Thursday, in large part because of their respective quarterback situations.

On one hand, Cooper Rush is quarterbacking the Cowboys following Dak Prescott's season-ending hamstring injury. On the other, the Giants got rid of Daniel Jones in large part because of his poor play mixed with the financial impact of playing him for the remainder of the season.

That means the Giants moved on to Tommy DeVito, whose days of being a rookie sensation have long been forgotten. Now, the quarterback situation is getting even blurrier for New York as DeVito isn't guaranteed to play, per Giants HC Brian Daboll.

DeVito is dealing with an injury in his throwing forearm and though the Giants are "hopeful" he'll be able to go, it's not 100% decided he will. If he can't go, it'll be Drew Lock on the field.

Cowboys are also hopeful Cooper Rush will play

Meanwhile, the Cowboys appear to be hopeful that Cooper Rush will be able to go as he nurses a knee injury that made him a limited participant in practice on Monday.

Mike McCarthy told reporters on Monday he expected his starting quarterback to be fine after Rush's best performance of the season in which he completed 75% of his attempts and tossed two touchdown passes.

It won't be the best quarterbacking game of the day but at least it seems like teams will be leaving the third-stringers on the bench instead of on the gridiron. These days, that has to count for something for these two franchises.
