The team has taken a giant step forward, thanks partly to rookie quarterback Bo Nix outplaying the expectations many had for him.
Win or lose in Week 18, the team has reason to believe they've found a long-term option at QB. The next step is improving the offense to get the most out of him.
In a new A to Z Sports 2025 first-round mock draft, the Broncos do just that by landing a new partner in crime opposite of Courtland Sutton at wide receiver.
Broncos select Missouri WR Luther Burden III in a new mock draft

"Whether the Broncos end up in the playoffs or not, they have to feel good about what they've seen from rookie Bo Nix. So, going into next year, they need to add a reliable weapon to pair with Courtland Sutton. Missouri's Luther Burden's skill set seems like a great compliment to Sutton."

There was a lot of speculation surrounding Courtland Sutton and his future with the Broncos this offseason. He was one of the most talked about players in hypothetical trades, but in the end, he remained in Denver and is having his best season since 2019. He has set a new career high with 76 receptions and has his second-most yards in a season with 983 and second-most touchdowns in a season with seven.
The Broncos also have an emerging deep threat in Marvin Mims Jr., so finding the last piece of the puzzle could complete their WR room. And that's precisely what drafting Missouri's Luther Burden would do. Burden size at 5"11" would allow him and Mims Jr. to be interchangeable between the slot and the outside. He has shown his ability at Missouri to be used in multiple different roles and, more importantly, be effective in multiple ways.
