Alex Singleton drops strong quote after re-signing with Broncos that Denver fans are loving
The Denver Broncos are bringing back linebacker Alex Singleton.
When the Denver Broncos agreed to a three-year deal with linebacker Justin Strnad just before the start of free agency, there was a feeling that it meant linebacker Alex Singleton wouldn’t be back with the team.
Part of the reason that was the feeling was because of a comment that Strnad made in January.
“Absolutely, I believe so,’’ said Strnad to The Denver Gazette in January about his desire to get a multiyear deal and be a starter. “I hope it works out that way, so we’ll see where it goes.”
“Yeah, I think so, but we’ll see how everything shakes out and kind of go from there,’’ added Strnad when asked if Singleton returning to Denver would make it difficult for him to also return.
The Broncos, however, ended up agreeing to a two-year deal ($15.5 million) with Singleton on Tuesday.
Singleton started 16 games for the Broncos last season after returning from the torn ACL he suffered in 2024.
The former Montana State linebacker totaled 135 tackles and one sack last season.
Alex Singleton drops great quote about returning to Denver
Singleton joined DNVR Sports this week to discuss his return to the Broncos.
And he made it clear that he wants to win a Super Bowl in Denver.
“There’s nothing better,” said Singleton of his decision to re-sign with Denver. “We live here. I love this team. I love this city. I love the organization, the owners, the coaches. We’re trying to win a Super Bowl, and there’s no better place to do that than here.”
Winning a Super Bowl is certainly the goal for the Broncos going into next season.
Singleton, by the way, also pointed out out that he’s happy Denver also re-signed Strnad.
“I’m so happy for him,” said Singleton. “Watching the work that somebody puts in and earning the contract that he got is just really special.”
