Every year we hear about a player who has seamlessly come out of nowhere and made a name for himself. Or we hear about guys who have always been in the league but just kind of coasted off, just being good enough to stay on a roster and then have a great season. It happens all the time, and in 2023 the Broncos could have that happen to them.

In 2022, they had a few guys step up into bigger roles, but obviously, it wasn’t enough. The Broncos desperately need that in 2023, as this is a very important season. They have to show improvement because the Broncos have been in the NFL’s basement for far too long.

This year, an under-the-radar player that deserves to be seen and why I think they will be seen in 2023 is cornerback K’Waun Williams, who was on the team last year, although the average fan still may not know who he is.

Williams has been in the league since 2014, so he isn’t unknown because he is a young player or anything like that. However, he has bounced around on a few different teams since being in the league. Williams was undrafted but signed by the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and has since played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Broncos last season.

Williams started eight games for the Broncos last year and finished with an interception and seven pass deflections. Williams will be a veteran on a young secondary, so we can assume Vance Joseph will lean on him a bit.

In 2022, he had the best Pro Football Focus coverage grade he has had since 2019 with the 49ers, as he finished with a 66.5. 2022 saw Williams play the most coverage snaps of his career with 410, and just by the way he likes to play, which is pressing up and being physical, Vance Joseph will love to use him.

I think in 2023, we see Williams have a huge year, so much so that it's almost as if he has a breakout year.
