Denver Broncos, Bradley Chubb

The Denver Broncos did not have as hood of a year last season as they would have hoped for, and neither did Pro Bowler Bradley Chubb.

Chubb was amazing in his rookie year in 2018, as he finished with 12 sacks. However, he hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations he set for himself after that great season.

Chubb has constantly been in and out of injury reports, so that hasn’t helped either. Last season, in the seven games he did play, Chubb did not register a sack.

For a player of his caliber, you can definitely call that a bust season.

This is the first off-season he has had where he has been healthy, so expect to see big things from him this year. One ESPN writer is already calling him one of the breakout players of the year in 2022.

Chubb is destined to have breakout season in 22’

According to Jeff Legwold of ESPN, Broncos edge rusher Bradley Chubb could be a bounce back player this season.

It is only bounce back in the sense that Chubb hasn’t been healthy, and when he did play last season, he was still hurt. However, having a better year than last would still constitute a bounce back year.

Here is what Legwold said about Chubbs’ upcoming season:

“Take it from the guy who has faced him in practice every day in training camp, Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles, who said this on Chubb so far: "Bradley Chubb is going to have a monster year. I'm telling you. I've seen different moves; I've seen a different attitude and a demeanor I haven't seen since his rookie year. He's just focused and ready to rock and roll. I feel bad for the tackles he has to go against.'' Chubb, who has battled ankle troubles in recent seasons and had surgery to remove bone spurs in both ankles last year, had a full offseason to prep for the first time since that rookie year, and it shows. He has been far more explosive in his on-field work and has said he feels mentally refreshed.”

If Chubb can put it all together this year, and be healthy on top of that, the rest of the league is in trouble. And, he's in a better defensive scheme under defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero that should really take advantage of his pass rush skills.

This defense will be very good this season, and Chubb’s bounce back season will be a large reason why.
