The Denver Broncos have a star player that just got some pretty big disrespect.

Everyone in the league knows that yes, while the Broncos have been bad the last few years when they play Denver, one of their receivers is in for a rough night. Just ask Davante Adams for the first matchup of 2022.

Sure, Adams still had 100 yards receiving, but he is going to do that regardless. Just know he didn't get that easily by any means. Surtain had two pass deflections, both on Adams and only gave up 70 yards on 50% pass completion.

Every team knows that Surtain is coming to take on your best receiver, and nothing is easy, which is why he is already a top-three receiver in the league, right? Wrong. One NFL analyst doesn't seem to think so.

No. 4: PATRICK SURTAIN II, DENVER BRONCOS
Surtain’s play doesn’t look as flashy as that of some other cornerbacks, but few players can play with his level of consistency and control. His PFF coverage grade jumped from 66.3 as a rookie to 86.7 last season, which put him in the All-Pro conversation. He had 12 games allowing fewer than 25 receiving yards, including his final six outings. –Sam Monson, PFF

Above Surtain is Darius Slay at three, Jalen Ramsey at two, and Sauce Gardner at one. All of those guys are great at their job, and definitely top five. However, I think you could make the case that Surtain is better than all of them.

To me, it's hard to put Gardner at number one because he hadn't done it consistently. He has only done it for one year. Don't get me wrong, it's just that everyone below him in that top four has done it at the highest level for a few years.

Ramsey is one of the best cornerbacks of this era. I won't say all-time, because I don't think he is there yet, but definitely of this era. However, the last season wasn't particularly good. I think the name is what gets him ranked that high.

Darius Slay played the easiest schedule of these guys, the easiest receiver schedule, and was on the best defense, as the pass rush nearly broke the all-time record for sacks in a season. That's a big deal, because the better the pass rush, the better for the cornerbacks because they don't have to cover as long. Oh, and he had James Bradberry and C.J. Gardner-Johnson helping him too.

To me, Surtain is the best of these guys, but I think he should have been at least at number three.
