The Denver Broncos offense has been probably the worst in the league, which, as I sound like a broken record, is a surprise to everyone.
When we covered this team during training camp, the constant conversation was about having one of the best offenses in the league. Bringing in a quarterback who has accomplished the things Russell Wilson has will do that.
Now, not only are they the worst offense in their division, they have a case for the worst offense in the league.
Of course, it is on a few different things too. Yeah, Hackett deserves some blame, but so does Wilson, and so does the offensive line, receivers, and running backs.
Usually, people would say a team has a one-dimensional offense, or they can only do one thing meaning the passing game or running game. This team can do neither. However, the reason this team is one-dimensional starts with the running game.
They don't have the offensive line to run the ball. They also don't have a hot hand or a guy that can just go get you five yards at any time.
"You would like to get the ball to the guy on the field that's got the hot hand," offensive coordinator Justin Outten said. "And right now, we don't have a hot hand in the run game."
The running game needs to get better if the Broncos want the deep plays downfield to be there. That is just how it works.
Outten may sound like he is being cruel or putting his team down, but it's just the facts. If they don't want him saying that, then play better. I don't know if the offense will ever be fixed this season, but I hope it does, and I know the fans do too.
