The Denver Broncos are off to a great start in the 2025 offseason.

They kicked off the free agent legal tampering period with a bang, signing safety Talanoa Hufanga and linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Denver then added a major weapon on offense in tight end Evan Engram.

According to ESPN Senior Writer Jeff Legwold, an under-the-radar move that will pay big dividends is the re-signing of swing tackle Matt Peart.

"While Peart's signing might not have made too many ripples in the free agency pond, he has carved out a niche as a reliable swing tackle," Legwold said. "His only two starts last season came against the Chargers, and he also played as a right tackle and an extra blocking tight end. He moved to their kicking units after the Chiefs blocked a field goal on the final play of the game in October. Peart and Alex Palczewski, as well as starters Garett Bolles and Mike McGlinchey, give the Broncos their top four tackles back after they were one of the league's best offensive lines in 2024."

However, all of those moves were apparently not enough for Denver to crack the top-10 of ESPN's post-free agency power rankings, as the Broncos landed at No. 12. They came in one spot behind their AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers, despite L.A. not being very active during free agency. Denver was also ranked behind the Cincinnati Bengals, who somehow came in at seventh despite not even making the playoffs last year.

Power rankings don't mean anything at the end of the day, but it feels like the Broncos were slighted a bit. If they can have a strong draft next month with the seven picks they possess, perhaps they'll shoot up a little on the next list. Ultimately, Denver will earn more respect by putting it all together on the field and winning games this fall.
