Broncos' Courtland Sutton already knows what Bo Nix brings to Denver and he hasn't caught one ball from him yet

The Denver Broncos have gone through years of suffering with mediocre or just flat-out bad quarterback play. No one has been able to follow up on what Peyton Manning did in a Broncos uniform since then, and, that's okay because it's not easy.
The Broncos have three quarterbacks who have all played very meaningful games in their careers. Well, two of them have in the NFL, and for Bo Nix, the rookie quarterback taken 12th overall, he played in some big-time college games at Oregon against Washington.
For Nix, he will likely be the starter come Week 1. The Broncos wanted to trade up for one of the rookie passers in the 2024 NFL Draft, but instead, they were able to stay put and draft him at 12.
With everyone available, the Broncos have a decent amount of weapons in front of Nix, too, so it's not like a similar situation with Justin Fields, who was thrown into the fire with no weapons or offensive line. Nix has some great players around him.
But, as we all know, there is one weapon that has yet to be at any of the minicamps or OTAs. The Broncos' best player on the offensive side of the ball – easily their best weapon, Courtland Sutton, has been somewhat holding out. He has yet to even throw with Nix. But, he knows that Nix has what it takes.
"Bo brings a lot of really good qualities to our team in terms of the quarterback position," Sutton said, via DNVR Sports. "He does a lot of things really, really well on the field. … He has that leader mentality, that aura that he walks with."
Considering the exceptional performance Courtland Sutton has consistently delivered, his desire to see his current $13.5 million base salary elevated to the $15-$16 million range is not surprising. Despite the challenging circumstances he has faced, including a lackluster team environment, Sutton has managed to maintain his productivity.
His resilience and ability to perform under such conditions underscore the value he brings to the team. He has let it be known that he wants to be with the Broncos, but he does need more guaranteed money, and that's totally understandable.
The Broncos drafted Nix, yes, but they also grabbed his former college teammate in wide receiver Troy Franklin. With Franklin, Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims, and Sutton, the Broncos can have a fairly good wide receiver room around their rookie quarterback.
It's not just about getting Sutton back to Denver, it's about ensuring the team's success. His presence as a safety blanket for rookie quarterback Bo Nix could be a game-changer. The sooner the contract dispute is resolved, the sooner the team can focus on their game plan and work towards their goals.
If we are going to see Nix at his full rookie potential, it will need to be with Sutton there. The two will have to rely on one another more than any other QB-WR duo. The good news is that Sutton has already said he will be at mandatory minicamp next week.
Now, we will get to see what the two look like working together.
