The Denver Broncos thought they may rekindle a veteran career when they signed linebacker Joe Schobert just over a week ago. Schobert is a former Pro Bowler. He has 661 tackles, eleven sacks, and ten interceptions over the past six years. Alas, the Broncos released him today.
At only 28, the Broncos probably thought he had some playing time left in the tank. For whatever reason, it did not work out. He spent just over a week with Denver. Schobert was cut by the Steelers in March to clear cap space. Only time will tell if another team takes a chance on the former Pro Bowl linebacker.
It's a rough ending for Schobert, who reportedly passed on multiple other offers in order to play for the Broncos. Schobert has a home in Sedalia area and he wanted to play close to home.
Therefore, the Broncos were all he really wanted.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out.
