The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers are meeting for the first time in 2022 and will have one more game against each other this year. The two division rivals have had some great battles with each other throughout the years, and if all goes right for the Broncos, this Monday could be another one.

Both of these teams have struggled to start the year, in terms of certain areas of their team. For the Broncos, their offense hasn't been good, at all. For the Chargers, their defense has been putrid, just when they thought it was better, they were wrong.

Their defense is the 10th worst in terms of yards allowed per game at 368.2. They are the third-worst in terms of points per game allowed at 27.2. In comparison, just so fans can see how bad the defense is, the Broncos allow just 16 points per game, the fourth-best in the league.

If there was a problem the Chargers are having on offense, it's at the offensive line. They have dealt with injuries badly, much like the Broncos, but have lost some key players on the line.

Offensive tackle Rashawn Slater is out for the year after having a Pro Bowl season in his rookie year in 2021. Tackle Andrew Trainer is currently on the Injured Reserved list, along with backup center Isaac Weavers.

They also had a few offensive linemen on their injury report this week that will be playing on Monday. Guard Zion Johnson was dealing with an ankle injury earlier in the week and offensive tackle Trey Pipkins dealt with a knee injury this week as well.

This is where the Broncos will make their money on Monday Night Football. This Denver defense has the fifth-most sacks in the NFL with 17 and could have even more with a banged-up offensive line. That is the perfect way for this team to get back on track.

The Broncos' defense will be there though, it's the offense that needs to step up. If the defense can stick to the game plan, put pressure on Herbert, and not allow big plays consistently, this team can win even if the offense is bad. They have won games so far this year on their defense alone, and Monday could be the same way.
