The Denver Broncos don't need anywhere near as much help on defense as they do on offense, and everyone knows that just from watching last season. But, they still have needs there. They can still get better on defense.
If there was one area they would need to get better on that side of the ball, it is definitely the interior line. They need depth at the position.
The Broncos have some good players on their defensive line, like D.J. Jones, but, those guys won't always be there and injuries do happen. Not to mention, the production on the defensive line could be better.
There is one guy who could help in that aspect. If this guy is available, the Broncos should think about taking him. Siaki Ika, the defensive tackle previously at LSU and finishing his college career at Baylor last season, could be great in the NFL.
Ika is the 32nd-ranked prospect in the draft according to Pro Football Focus, and the third-best defensive tackle by their standards.
At LSU, Ika had one of the better seasons by a defensive tackle in the 2021 season. He finished with 33 pressures on the quarterback, and six sacks. If he copied that production and did that in 2022, he would likely be a top pick in the draft, but his play this last year didn't match the year before.
But, he does get somewhat of a pass because this last season was his first year in a new system on a worse defensive team as a whole. If you get him in the right system with the right players around him, he can be dominant, in my opinion.
Ika is 6'4" 358 pounds, and will definitely beef up the inside. He can get to the passer and he can stop the run. But, he is better at rushing the passer.
Ika is a great prospect that the Broncos should definitely look into if he is available. But, there is a chance he won't be available because his potential is pretty high.
