The Denver Broncos have had some flux along their offensive line this season.
One part of the OL has made an impact even when he hasn't been on the field. That would be offensive lineman Dalton Risner.
Risner has played well when he's been healthy, but he has also been a source of leadership while dealing with injury in his career with the Broncos.
His teammates and coaches have consistently raved about his role on the team.
Now, his future with the team is a bit up in the air. His contract expires after this season, and Risner has not been extended. The Broncos have had discussions with him, but nothing has come to fruition yet.
With an important contact looming for him, he was asked about the situation with Denver earlier today.
It's clear the Risner would love to remain with the Broncos.
At the same time, he knows his worth. He is a talented interior offensive lineman and deserves to be paid as precisely that.
If they can come to an agreement, it'll cement another piece of an OL that may see a lot of transition over the next year or so. It was disappointing this year in front of QB Russell Wilson, and Denver needs improvement there.
There will be plenty of suitors, but the Broncos would be smart to find some middle ground to bring back one of the fanbase's favorite players on offense.
