The Denver Broncos' season hasn't gone quite as planned.
That being said, this past Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs was a bright spot. Denver didn't get the win, but they battled against one of the best teams in the NFL. The offense came alive, and the defense dominated the second half.
Linebacker Josey Jewell has become a fan favorite over the past three seasons. Jewell plays hard and has developed into a very solid defender for the Broncos.
Against Patrick Mahomes yesterday, Jewell made a couple of massive plays to make history.
It was a historic day for the Broncos' linebacker.
He accomplished a feat against one of the greatest QBs in NFL history that no other player had done before. As a unit, the Broncos forced Mahomes to throw three interceptions.
That's tied for the most in a single game in his career, and the Denver defensive line caused that. Their consistent pressure in the second half had Mahomes flustered. Jewell and company took full advantage.
Along with his two forced turnovers, Jewell also led the Broncos in tackles. That's nothing new as he now has 96 total tackles this season. In 2020, Jewell recorded 113 tackles for the Broncos.
Now, he is a key player for one of the best defenses in the entire NFL.
