The Denver Broncos debuted their new uniform redesign last season. They completely went away from the uniforms they have had the most success with. And, the uniforms they have now are brilliant, and are certainly better on the eyes than the previous.

They have integrated the 5280 on the uniforms and helmets, which helps showcase the city, which is a mile above sea level. They kept the same colors and logo but used different stripes on the shoulders and pant legs. And, the colors feel a bit brighter, even if they really aren't, it certainly feels like it pops more. They also brought back their iconic 1970s throwback uniforms.

But, they were only allowed to wear the throwbacks and the alternate uniforms three times.

On Monday, during the NFL Owners Meetings in West Palm Beach, Florida, it was revealed that teams could now wear them four times in one season, with more helmet possibilities, too.

“I think as it was introduced today ever so diplomatically, it was that uniforms are important," President Damani Leech said. "One way or another basically everyone in the room. I think everybody has an opinion on uniforms around the league. And they are [important]. They’re amazing. I think the cadence of our games of once a week allows them to have a sense of weight and specialness to them, which is exciting. I think the fans love it and get excited about what the players are wearing that particular week.

"Each team still is limited to four options in their closet: home, away, alternate, and throwback. So you still only get those. So our throwback is orange. So you’re limited in that. The issue is that you can now wear one of your alternates or throwbacks four times in the regular season versus the three, and you have flexibility on the helmets… I’m just happy we got the vote we just got. (Laughs) I’ll take that win for now. Maybe in the future we’ll get a little bit more flexibility.”

This is huge news for the fans, as they now get to see the uniforms that they love the most, the alternate and throwbacks, more than just a few times. Last year, they wore the throwbacks twice, once against the Las Vegas Raiders, where they ended up blowing out their biggest rival, and another against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18, in which they also blew them out.

As for the alternate uniforms, they wore them in Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns, where they won 41-32.

The Broncos are 3-0 in their non-home and away uniforms. So, maybe this rule will only help them win more games. In all seriousness, this is exactly what the fans want.
