The Denver Broncos' newest player has some traits that fans will love to see according to his college coach.

The Broncos needed to nail this draft class if they wanted to continue to get better, and Sean Payton had to get his first draft class as a Bronco out of the way. And, while they could have done some things differently, they still did a pretty good job.

The Broncos took a receiver with their first pick, and they traded up to go and get him. Then they went linebacker, cornerback, safety, and center. Overall the draft class should be good, and we could see some guys making the team better this year.

One of the guys that stands out to nearly everyone is JL Skinner, the safety from Boise State, where he was a Bronco there, and is a Bronco now. Oh, and the color scheme is the same too.

Before Kareem Jackson resigned, he was supposed to be that potential safety blanket if it didn't work out with Caden Sterns or P.J. Locke, but Jackson did resign, so now they have five safeties that can all play.

Skinner is interesting though, because he has a lot of the tools you need, but the game still isn't there quite yet. However, he does have some skillsets that fans will love, according to what his defensive coordinator in college said.

He’s an eraser to where things don’t maybe go well, JL can clean the whole thing up for you and he’s going to do it in a violent way. I can’t tell you how many guys he’s hit that they really got to think twice if they want to keep playing. He picks up football very well. So you can put a lot on him. That’s the biggest thing… I really believe his best football is in front of him. -Boise State DC Spencer Danielson, DNVR Zac Stevens

So, never would I ever make this comparison because you can't really and it's just not fair to either person, but when I think of an eraser, I think of Steve Atwater, who is one of the hardest-hitting safeties in NFL History.

Now, that doesn't mean he will be him or like him or anything like that, they just share that quality. Fans love Atwater because they loved how hard and violent he played. So, I have a feeling they will love Skinner when he finally gets his chance.
