One of Russell Wilson's former Broncos teammates won't fall in line with what a lot of the NFL is doing.

Last year it seemed like the common trend for people not on the Broncos to just start poking fun at the All-Pro and Super Bowl-winning quarterback; sure, he played badly, but some of the stuff that was said is just out of line.

The Broncos were bad too, so it was easy to poke fun at the guy, but one of his former teammates didn't fall in line when asked about his former teammate.

"[Russell Wilson] gets so much flak, but it's crazy because he does the absolute most that he can possibly do to make sure he's the best he can possibly be," Bradley Chubb said on Tyreek Hill's podcast. "He doesn't miss a step, so when he has a fluke year like this, he's just got to chalk it up. You had a bad year, but it gets so glorified because of who he is, who he's been, [and] what he's done. So he's got to look at it as a nod to who you are as a person too. 'Alright. I'm such on this pedestal that everyone wants to knock me down.'

"And that's how it is with him. All the different allegations and all that. Everybody is talking about his [personal] life—he's just got to sit there and take it. I kind of watched him do that, and it was dope to see how he stayed the same person throughout it all. It was unfortunate that we just couldn't reach the potential that we all thought we were going to be."

Even though they only spent one season together, it's easy to see that they both greatly respect each other. Chubb wouldn't go to bat for a guy he barely knows, played one season with, and wasn't even on the same side of the ball.

Chubb isn't on the team anymore, and while that sucks, it still feels good to see him sticking up for his former teammates. Chubb broke it down as well as one can too. For him to say it was a fluke year, because let's be honest, it was out of nowhere, is a good thing to hear too.

Hopefully, Russel Wilson can give the haters something good to talk about in 2023.
