The Denver Broncos need offensive line help, and they need it badly. Russell Wilson was sacked 55 times last season, tied with Justin Fields for the most in the league. But, they could grab one of the best left tackles in the league this free agency, as recent news suggests he may be available.

The best part is the Broncos played him twice this last season. Orlando Brown Jr., the Chiefs left tackle for the last two years, has been one of the best in the league. And, the Chiefs announced on Monday that they will not be franchise-tagging him again.

So in other words, if they can't get a deal done, one that fits both sides, they will let him walk. And, that's where the Broncos come in.

If you want to maximize what you're getting out of Wilson, a guy you traded for and paid $230 million, then you need to give him as much time as possible in the pocket. Signing Brown Jr. will do just that. And, it will feel good to take a key player off of the Chiefs, one of the Broncos' biggest rivals.

The Chiefs have beaten the Broncos 15 straight times now. Sure, you didn't want to be reminded of that. But, making a move like this could help them get to where they need to be – a level the Chiefs have been on for some time now.

Per spotrac, Brown Jr. has a projected market value of $22.4 million annually, which if the Broncos wanted to grab him, they would have to cut or restructure some contracts considering they only have $18 million but I think they could do it.

It's no secret they need a guy like Brown Jr., who has been a Pro Bowler for the last four years, so he is obviously doing something right. That's a guy the Broncos need to protect Wilson.
