Broncos lose key player in free agency to NFC foe
It was going to happen, but you hate to see it for the Broncos.
The Denver Broncos spent more money on the first day of free agency than any other team. They were able to fix their offensive line issues, which have been dwelling on them for several years now, while also snagging some great defensive players.
But, it seems they didn't have enough, or the right amount I should say, for Dre'Mont Jones, who was a top-three defender on their team last season.
Instead, the star defensive tackle ended up getting snagged by the Seattle Seahawks, as if he was traded there for Russell Wilson.
Per Ian Rapoport, the deal is 3 years and $51.53 million, with $23.5 million in Year 1 — $35.02 million over two years.
Jones, a defensive end in a 3-4 defense and a defensive tackle in a 4-3, had 22 sacks over four years with Denver.
The Seahawks are getting themselves a monster.
