Broncos: George Paton ranked last in GM rankings

The Denver Broncos have been in the dark since after they won the Super Bowl. Since then, they have had just one winning season, and that was the season right after the Super Bowl. Just think, the last time the Broncos made the playoffs was in 2015.
So changes need to be made, and they have been several times now. This is not the same regime the Broncos had three or four years ago, let alone six or seven. This regime hasn't been all that successful either.
We thought they were going to when George Paton went and got Nathaniel Hackett and Russell Wilson, but we were wrong. It seems Paton hasn't done a ton of things right since he was hired in 2021.
In fact, he was rated dead last in a recent general manager power rankings list. Ranked at 25 out of 25 possible that is harsh, but the reality is, he hasn't done a whole lot.
Here is exactly what Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com wrote about Paton:
A year ago at this time, I wrote: It's easy to imagine Paton debuting on the rankings portion of this piece fairly high up a year from now. Then we watched Russell Wilson play in Denver under Paton's handpicked coach, Nathaniel Hackett, and suddenly that draft haul the Broncos gave up for Wilson looks like a killer. Paton's second draft also got off to a slow start after a great 2021 haul, but this ranking is about the Wilson trade and Hackett hire. Sean Payton is essentially in charge now.
Now, he didn't have anything to say about what Paton did this offseason, but then again, we don't really know if those moves were good yet. Sure, we know that on paper they look like great moves.
The Broncos needed a ton of help on the offensive line and they went and got the best guys they could. They also addressed the backup quarterback and running back positions and added a few other guys here and there. On paper Paton killed it. But he can't give a fair assessment of that.
I mean last year we thought the Broncos got one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Russell Wilson. Then, a year later, he looks like one of the worst.
