Broncos get ranked surprisingly low in post-free agency power rankings
For the Denver Broncos, they need to finish off their offseason right. In other words, the draft has to go very well for them. The Broncos fell short of the playoffs last year. Okay, maybe not short, maybe it wasn't even close, but still, the expectations they had going into the season didn't match the output they had.
They ended up getting Sean Payton as their next head coach as he is tasked with turning this franchise around, and so far, I'd say he is off to a great start. This team is already better than last year, at least that's what I think.
PFF doesn't seem to agree though, as their recent post-free agency power rankings have the Broncos as the 28th-ranked team, which would mean they are the fourth worst, which isn't better than last year. Here is what they had to say about the Broncos:
Biggest loss: C Graham Glasgow
Biggest gain: QB Jarrett Stidham
The signing of guard Ben Powers increases the offensive line's pass-blocking talent level by a large margin, and the addition of tackle Mike McGlinchey will make an impact in the running game. The Broncos' defense replaced Dre’Mont Jones with Zach Allen at a cheaper rate. Allen hasn’t played a full season but has performed at a high level.

I know most people overreacted to their offseason moves last year and immediately made them a playoff team before playing a snap, but this offseason feels very much different.
They immediately addressed their biggest needs, especially the offensive line problem, which on paper is already miles better than the one they had last year. They have a much better head coach. And the defense is still set to be as good as last year's.
I don't see how you could have this team get worse or stay the same with everything they have done. I'm not saying this is a playoff team, but they aren't a team who will be picking in the top four of the draft next season with their pick.
