The season for the Denver Broncos has not gone according to plan.

Entering the season, they were believed to be a contender with a legitimate defense and a new star quarterback.

Fast forward a few months, and that was not the case at all. The Broncos' defense has been impressive for much of the year.

The offense, however, has been dreadful. It is one of the worst units in the entire NFL.

After hiring Nathaniel Hackett as their head coach during the off-season, that situation was clearly inexcusable.

The Broncos are firing Nathaniel Hackett.

The timing is a bit odd, but yesterday's performance on both sides of the ball were the nail in the coffin for Hackett. The offense never got off the ground, and the defense's effort wasn't what it normally is on game day.

It was the perfect storm in the worst way for the -now former- Broncos' HC.

Hackett will probably catch onto an offensive staff during the off-season, but his first trial as a head coach didn't go swimmingly.

The Broncos will be on the search for a new head coach now.
