The Denver Broncos haven't been the best for the last almost decade. I think we can all agree on that. Since they won the Super Bowl in 2015, things have been downhill. As glorious as the Super Bowl win was, it changed everything.

Defensive pieces have since left, offensives players have left too, and no the Broncos have been through four coaches and are on their fifth since the win.

The last season wasn't good either, even though the expectations were high. They finished with just five wins, two less than their total the season before. But now the new ownership group has a full season under their belt. They know what to expect now, and they are learning from this last season.

"Yeah, lots of learnings in the last 7.5 months," Greg Penner said at the annual league meetings in Arizona. "One is just how passionate our fans are, how much they want to win. The last seven years, last seven seasons have been tough, you know, but at the end of the day, probably the biggest learning and we saw this fall is it comes back to, we've got to have the right people in place. We need the right culture. We've got to set expectations, we need accountability. And I think with hiring Sean Payton, we're teed up to be a very different team next year."

The Broncos have everything lined up to be better next year, starting with the ownership group spending some money this offseason. They didn't get the full owner experience in last year's offseason as everything was so new and fresh, but now that they have done it, things should be better in their area.

We have seen that too. They already have plans to upgrade the video boards at the stadium, in what is supposed to be a $100 million deal. There are rumors that they have plans to do things to the stadium too, whether it's renovating or adding a dome.

The ownership group has this franchise heading in the right direction, and to hear Penner say everything he has learned only shows progression.
