It's no secret the Denver Broncos are probably the hottest team in the NFL right now. They are riding a five-game winning streak, and on Sunday, they will be playing another great team, the Houston Texans. The game should be fun, but there is a lot at stake for the Broncos.

Both of these teams are 6-5 on the year and one game out of a wild-card spot. The three teams above the Texans and Broncos are the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4), the Cleveland Browns (7-4), whom the Broncos just beat, and the Indianapolis Colts (6-5).

If the Broncos lose, it will be hard for them to make up some ground for that playoff spot, especially if the Steelers, Browns, and Colts win, too. They would have to find a way to make up that ground with just four games left after a potential loss to the Texans.

There is a stat out there that shows just how much is at stake for the Broncos on Sunday.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Broncos have a 64% chance to make the playoffs if they win on Sunday. If they lose, they then have a 21% chance to make it.

The Broncos would be at 6-6 on the year if they lose, and if the other four teams win, they would be two games back of a playoff spot with four games remaining.

Now, this season isn't playoffs or bust. In fact, with the way the season started, I don't know how many people expected the Broncos to be in the hunt for a playoff spot in Week 13. The fact that the Broncos have turned things around after having a historically bad defense is great in itself.
