The Denver Broncos have been one of the worst teams on offense this year. No, literally, like a bottom-three team in the league. According to Pro Football Focus, the Broncos have the second-worst offense in the league with a grade of 61.6, which is .3 above the league's worst, the New York Jets, the team Denver just lost to.
I have never seen a roster so good on the offensive side of the ball be so bad. They have (had) the running back, they have the receivers, and they finally got the quarterback.
This offense needs a change, and I think everyone knows that. Questions within the fan base have been asked for a while now about the play calling, and whether or not Hackett would give it up. Finally, someone asked him.
"I think we will always look at everything," Hackett said. "I always look at myself first and foremost. If there is something that we all agree that I might hold the team back or anything like that, sure. I don't think that is the case. I think there are plays to be had there. I think we have been in and out of the huddle, and the communication has been really good, but we will look at everything. We will always look at everything to try and improve this offense."
In my opinion, changing the play caller from Nathaniel Hackett to Justin Outten won't fix this problem. They are both not very good at that area of the offense. And if you think about it, the offense is coming from both of them anyways. However, I am glad someone asked Hackett.
Asking him forces him to think that maybe, just maybe there needs to be a change. And there absolutely does. Hopefully, Jackett comes up with something soon, or he won't be asked that question after a while, because if he keeps this up, he won't have a job.
