The Denver Broncos just lost in the worst way anyone could have imagined. Just when we thought the season couldn't get any worse, the broncos seemed to have hit a low point.

This time, though, it's Russell Wilson, too.

Let us just list out the reasons why this game was so bad. The offense didn't score a touchdown. The defense played really well but was ultimately let down. Russell Wilson wasn't great, and the game was lost in overtime on a fourth-and-one call, in which the Broncos could have easily scored.

Many wondered why the Broncos called such a questionable play at the end and many suspected it had a lot to do with the Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks where the Broncos opted for a 64-yard field goal attempt opposed to putting the ball in Wilson's hands.

Sure enough, Hackett confirmed said suspicion after the game.

"We wanted to win the game," Hackett told the media. "We hadn't moved the ball well all night, and I thought we had a spectacular drive to get all the way down there. It ended up being fourth and one and got the go-to go for it. We thought that was a good decision, we wanted to put the ball in Russell's [Wilson] hands and called a play that we know that he really likes, and it didn't work out.

"It was one of those things. The timeout before was to kind of get a feel for what they were doing, and so the run didn't look as good as we hoped it would have. And we gave it a chance with Russell, and that's all you can ask for in that situation to win the game."

There are a few things wrong with that last play, and I'm going to just list them out, because why not.

The Broncos could have walked off in overtime, in two ways. First, K.J. Hamler was wide open off a slant on the right side. Go back and watch the film, and it may blow your mind.

Secondly, Wilson had plenty of time to run to the right to at least get the first down off of the edge. He also had enough time, right about the time he throws the ball, to run up the middle for what would have been at least a first down.

This has been terrible to watch, and the Broncos better fix something soon, or they will hear nothing but boos for the rest of the season. If they don't turn things around, we could be seeing them draft someone like Will Anderson in the offseason.
