The Denver Broncos have been in some trouble lately with one of the NFL's more strict rules. We have seen players around the league get in trouble for betting on games, and after it happened to one of the Broncos' players, Sean Payton can't be happy.

According to Mike Klis from 9News, defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended.

"The NFL confirmed today that Eyioma Uwazurike of the Denver Broncos has been suspended indefinitely for betting on NFL games in the 2022 season. Uwazurike will be eligible to petition for reinstatement no earlier than July 24, 2024."

The recent news did not make the Broncos' new head coach any bit of happy. He recently came out about the rule, and man, he told it exactly how it is.

"When you have a bunch of players getting D's, you have to start looking at the message," Payton told USA TODAY Sports. "And we've had a lot of D's in our league this year with this policy. You can't bet on NFL football, ever, ever, ever…I don't give a (expletive) what it is. The other thing is, it's the same as the gun policy…wherever you can't carry a gun, you can't place a bet."

Let's hope the Broncos don't have another situation like this, but at the same time, you kind of know that Payton is the right guy for this job based on his action when his players do this.

There are three words Payton used to sum it all up, and it's perfect.

"Shame on us."
