When the Denver Broncos made a new hire, they were blown away by what they saw in their research.

This offseason, the Broncos went through their second straight season of bringing in a whole new coaching staff. Last year it was the first-time head coach Nathaniel Hackett brought in his staff; this year, Sean Payton brought in his own.

However, one guy he brought in had no previous coaching history, yet, he gave him one of the most important positions on the staff. The Broncos signed former 2022 backup quarterback for the New York Giants, Dvis Webb, as their quarterback coach. In other words, this guy who was just in the league is supposed to help turn around Russell Wilson.

What Payton found blew him away.

"It was a little bit happenchance because I didn't have the tie," Payton told Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein. "Then, the deeper we kept researching [Webb], the more we were like, 'Holy cow.'"

The crazy part about this all is the fact that Webb is 28 years old. He is barely old enough to rent a car, yet, he will be responsible for fixing a former Super Bowl champion.

Webb has backed up some legendary quarterbacks in his career, like Eli Manning in 2017 and even Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech in college under head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

"When he notices people aren't quite on the same page, he's got a good way about him to just bring it back to the simplest coaching point," Shea Tierney, the New York Giants quarterback coach said. "That's why this guy's going to be a really good coach."

From everything we hear, Webb has everything you need to be a coach at this level. The only thing he lacks is experience. However, Payton likes to have a young guy on his staff every now and then, as it helps bring that mindset and keep things fresh.

Hopefully, Webb and Payton will be the two main guys to bring Wilson back to the star level we all know he can play at.
