Two huge needs on the offensive side of the ball stick out the most when reviewing what the Denver Broncos need, as we are now only eight days away from the 2025 NFL Draft. If they want to leap the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs, they have to address their needs.

However, the Broncos are in a very good position to get exactly what they need and drastically improve their offense just by Round 2. In the first round, they can get the wide receiver that they need to help quarterback Bo Nix. They desperately need another weapon to go along with Courtland Sutton, who is seeking an extension, Evan Engram, and Marvin Mims Jr.

As for the running back position, this is one of the deepest drafts at the position in a few decades. Of course, if a guy like Ashton Jeanty falls to No. 20 in the draft, which is very unlikely, then you take him in Round 1. But if you can hold off until the second round, where the positional value is much better, why not do that?

In the second round, the Broncos could get guys like Cam Skattebo, Quinshon Judkins, Kaleb Johnson, D.J. Giddens, Dylan Sampson, or even TreVeyon Henderson. All of them would be good players to get in the second round, but only one of those guys fits the exact mold that head coach and offensive guru Sean Payton wants.

He wants a three-down back, and a guy that can do it all, whether it's running in a zone scheme or a power scheme, to catching passes, to playing pass pro — Henderson fits the mold. And, it's obvious that they are interested in him, too.

Broncos visit with Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson

TreVeyon Henderson emerged as one of the most electrifying running backs in the country over the last year. A five-star recruit and the nation’s No. 1-ranked running back per 247Sports, Henderson enrolled at Ohio State in January 2021.

In his freshman season, he broke Archie Griffin’s single-game freshman rushing record with 277 yards against Tulsa, finishing the year with 1,248 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, and four receiving touchdowns, earning Freshman All-American honors.

Despite injury setbacks—a fractured foot in 2022 and rib issues in 2023—he remained a dynamic RB, averaging 6.4 yards per carry over his career. His final 2024 season saw him rush for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns, culminating in a national championship. Henderson’s career totals include 3,761 rushing yards and 48 total touchdowns.

Henderson is likely going to be a second or third-round pick, but with the Broncos having a pretty sizeable gap between their second and third-round picks, they should take him in the second round if possible. This visit doesn't mean the Broncos will draft him. In fact, it only means they have a bit of interest in him and want to learn more.
