The Denver Broncos are hoping to right the wrongs, in almost every fashion, that took place last season. Well, they're not off to a fantastic start just moments before their contest against the Arizona Cardinals.
An image of undrafted rookie Jaleel McLaughlin went viral as his nameplate was incorrect. While working his absolute hardest to get to this moment, it's a shame that part of it was shrouded by this unfortunate mistake.
While we don't think it'll bother him that much, it's just an unfortunate string of relative disrespect thrown his way. We have been banging the table for McLaughlin all offseason, highlighting his big-play abilities and how we believe he could make a difference on this roster.
From getting his nameplate wrong to being last on the unofficial depth chart behind Javonte Williams, Samaje Perine, Tony Jones Jr, and Tyler Badie. Despite dominating camp, McLaughlin is on the outside looking in.
With the game almost underway, this is McLaughlin's dress rehearsal for playing time. If McLaughlin is able to show up and show out, it'll be near impossible for the team to keep him off their 53-man roster.
As we reported previously, McLaughlin has history on his side as in 18 of the past 19 seasons an undrafted rookie was on the 53-man roster when the season began.
Here's hoping the worst part about his night is an incorrect nameplate and not subpar play on the football field. While last season was ugly, this is the team's first chance for redemption. All eyes are going to be on Denver, one way or another.
