The Denver Broncos made the right decision on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Well, at least that's what first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett said on Sunday after the win.
This team has had a tough year, and I think anyone can see that. I mean, they were expected to have a much better season than what they did. Remember, adding Russell Wilson and Hackett was supposed to catapult them into the playoffs.
I think most of us before the season started, thought that would happen.
On Sunday, though, the Broncos got their fourth win on the season. I'm sure after losing nine of their last 10 games, that felt great.
"It feels great," Hackett said when asked how it feels to put a win on the board. "This team has had a lot of adversity this year, both through the injuries, and the close games, and it has been great to see them all stick together. Fight for each other, continually battle. We have been in so many games against a bunch of very good football teams."
The Broncos played one of their better games of the 2022 season on Sunday against the Cardinals in Week 15. It is sad that it had to come against a team that used their third-string quarterback for the majority of the game.
But, the good part is that this team was down this time, and came back. Instead of starting the game up 10 points and losing that lead, the Broncos fought back and won the game. They showed some resilience that they haven't shown all season long.
"We had another choice today," Hackett said. "We were down 9-3, and those guys had another choice, and they stepped up even more on defense, special teams, and offense, and that's what you love to see, and that's what I appreciate from this team watching them out there."
Yes, I know that there are only three games left on the season, and the Broncos are already eliminated from playoff contention, however, these next three games are so important for the Broncos.
Denver has to figure out what they want their identity to be next season. I mean, do they want to invest in certain areas? That's something that these next three games will help them figure out.
