The Denver Broncos have a massive off-season ahead of them.
They must first find their new head coach, though. Nathaniel Hackett was fired during the season in his first stint as an NFL HC. Denver must find his replacement, and they really need to nail the hire. Back-to-back duds wouldn't be a great look for the front office.
Today, we learned that one option won't return as the head coach of the Broncos. He actually won't be on staff at all.
Interim head coach Jerry Rosburg has been let go.
Rosburg will not be a part of the next coaching staff.
The move is unexpected for many. The chances that Rosburg got the full-time HC position always seemed low, but moving on from him completely is a bit surprising.
Rosburg was beloved by the players and staff, but Denver felt like it was time to move on. He did a nice job to end the season as the team's interim. There's no doubt about that.
He is a veteran coach with plenty of experience. It sounds like Rosburg could stay with Denver in a leadership role, though.
For the Broncos, it is clear that they are going in a completely new direction for the coaching staff.
It seems like the new head coach will have plenty of say in the rest of his staff. The Broncos' choice is highly-anticipated.
