The Denver Broncos star running back Melvin Gordon has been dealing with a foot contusion. It’s nothing serious, just a bruise on his foot is all, so there is really nothing to worry about on that front.
However, there was a recent tweet that had to do with the contusion that recently went viral. You have have already seen it.
Gordon sat out of Saturdays game with the contusion, but was warning up before the game catching passes. Someone caught a picture of the running back and noticed something in his sock. A reporter then tweeted that Gordon was wearing a pad on his shin.
Gordon had an amazing response to the tweet.
One question people have been asking is, why would Gordon have a pad on his shin for a foot contusion anyways?
On Wednesday Gordon met with the media, and the first thing he was asked is “How does your foot feel?”
“Good,” Gordon replied with a smirk on his face.
The very next question was “How does your cellphone feel?” Gordon couldn’t help but laugh.
“I didn’t mean for it to go viral like that… I thought it was more funny than anything… I always put it [cellphone] in my socks because the shorts they give us don’t have pockets. So I should invest in an Apple Watch, but the sock has to work for now,” Gordon said with a smile.
This isn’t entirely football related, but it’s still something fun. It’s always good to make the best out of things in light of something happening.
Let's hope Gordon can return soon for Week 1 against the Seahawks. Hopefully his cell reception will be better there than in his sock.
