Broncos’ HC continues to preach something the players are probably tired of hearing

Broncos, Hackett, coach,

The Denver Broncos lost, again, but most of us knew that would happen. I mean, if we are going to be honest, and I’m sure most of you feel the same, his team stinks.

The Broncos season doesn’t look like it will be getting turned around anytime soon, as sad as it is to say.

After the 23-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Hackett addressed the media, singing the same song he has all year.

“It’s about accountability,” Hackett said postgame. “Everybody has got to see what they can do themselves to be able to get better.”

I’m sure they know by now that “It’s about accountability,” as he has been saying all year, since the first game. It’s the same story.

I think by now, the media, fans, and maybe even the players want answers as to why this didn’t work.

“It’s about the team,” Hackett said. “I just want to find a way to win a football game. That’s so important to me. These coaches, these players, they work so hard and I just want to be there for them to be able to try to make it so we can be successful on the field.”

We all want you to find a way to win a football game, something we have seen just three times this season.

“It goes in all three phases. All three phases have to be better. That starts with me. I’ve got to be better. The coaches got to be better. The players got to be better. We just continually talk about growing, understanding where we’re going to go and what we can do.”

The play on the field isn’t the only reason Hackett will be getting fired. Whether it be this season or after the season, Hackett will be gone for more reasons than the product put out on the field.

I’m not going to say he doesn’t know how to interact with media, but nearly every press conference is the same. It’s always “we will have to look at the tape,” or “that’s on me,” or “we have to be better,” all three things we already know.

This isn’t Hacketts’ time. It’s sad to say because the expectations as he came in were huge, not only for the team but to have what would finally be a competent head coach.

A lot of coaches don’t make it the first time as being a head coach. Maybe next time Hackett will be better. But, he can’t keep saying the same things and putting out the same product and not think the players won’t buy in or at least get tired of hearing what he’s saying.
