The Denver Broncos just got some bad news right before training camp, as they placed two key players on the non-football injury list.

According to Field Yates of ESPN and Mike Klis of KUSA-TV, K.J. Hamler and Mike Purcell have both been added to the list. Both of these guys hoped to start training camp healthy, but it would appear they would not participate fully on day one.

Wide receiver K.J. Hamler has a partially-torn pectoral muscle that he got this spring when he was working out away from the team. This is a guy who has dealt with so many injuries since being in the league, and it seems like he just can't catch a break.

Defensive tackle Mike Purcell underwent a "minor" surgery this offseason, and it's unclear how long the defensive lineman will be out. Purcell is supposed to be the backup to D.J. Jones at defensive tackle.

Players on the NFI list still count against the 90-man offseason roster but are not able to practice.

This doesn't mean they will miss all of training camp, but that they will; likely miss the first day. Be sure to monitor the situations to see when they both become available to come to practice and fully participate.
