The Denver Broncos have been one of the front runners to land the All-Pro running back for some time until now; one analyst suggests they aren't.

The Broncos need another running back, as their 2022 starter Javonte Williams is still recovering from a gruesome injury. They signed Samaje Perine in the offseason, and he will be the starter until Williams is ready, but other than that, the room still needs help. They were thought to be a team that would be competitive for Cook and one that was in the running.

Based on what one NFL analyst has put together, it's possible the Broncos aren't even a top-five team in pursuit of Cook. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network told Rich Eisen on Tuesday that Cook has multiple offers on the table. None of those teams appear to be the Broncos.

Cook is one of the league's best running backs and can do it all. Sure, he is getting up there in age, but he is a guy who could help the Broncos' offense improve immediately. Here is what Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports wrote on Cook:

Cook has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons and has rushed for at least 1,135 yards in each of those four campaigns. He's the only NFL player to rush for 1,110-plus yards in each of the last four years. In 2022, Cook played a full season for the first time in his career and rushed for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Since 2019, Cook has the third-most rushing yards (5,024), second-most rushing touchdowns (43), and second-most rushing first downs (258). He leaves the Vikings as the franchise's third-leading rusher with 5,993 yards, trailing only Robert Smith and Adrian Peterson. His 47 rushing touchdowns rank fourth in Vikings history.

Dajani has the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Jets as the five teams he thinks could land Cook. Only a few of those make sense for the team.

Arizona is clearly in a rebuild at the moment, so I don't understand why they would go get a guy like Cook at that age and pay him what he wants. The New York Jets had one of the best rookie running backs in the league last year in Breece Hall before he got hurt. Why take snaps away from him and pay Cook?

The Broncos could be on the outside looking in now.
