The Denver Broncos are adding a veteran wide receiver to their 53-man roster.

According to reports from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the speedy Phillip Dorsett has landed with the Broncos after being released by the Las Vegas Raiders. The former 2015 first-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts has been a bit of a journeyman throughout his NFL career. He's spent time with the Patriots, Texans, and Jaguars. He even spent the 2020 NFL season in Seattle with Russell Wilson, but he spent most of the year on injured reserve.

It was only a matter of time before the Broncos made an addition here after keeping only four receivers on their initial 53-man roster. They were actively trying to make an addition there via trade, but instead, they grabbed a veteran after roster cuts.

In his seven NFL seasons, Dorsett has appeared in 92 games with 19 starts. During that span, he recorded 151 receptions for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also brings some value as a return specialist, though he really only held that role as a rookie with the Colts in 2015.

Dorsett will likely slot in as depth behind the likes of Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Marvin Mims. Look for Denver to potentially add some more receiver depth on the 53-man roster or practice squad as early as Wednesday.
