Bo Nix immediately showed his leadership after the Denver Broncos traded for Jaylen Waddle

Broncos starting quarterback Bo Nix immediately showed his elite leadership this week after Denver traded for Waddle.

According to The Denver Post’s Parker Gabriel, Nix and several other Broncos players took Waddle to dinner on Tuesday night after the wide receiver arrived in Denver.

“Waddle arrived in town late in the day Tuesday,” wrote Gabriel. “A source told The Post that quarterback Bo Nix and several other current players took Waddle to dinner on his first night in town.”

The Broncos had to add a playmaker to their roster this offseason. There were several different routes they could’ve taken, but they targeted Waddle in large part because he’s a perfect culture fit.

It’s clear from Gabriel’s report that Nix is wasting no time building an important off-the-field connection with his new offensive weapon.

There’s not much that’s more important to an offense’s success than the chemistry between the quarterback and the wide receivers. Nix is displaying high-level leadership by proactively building that relationship with Waddle.

“It feels like home, feels like family,” said Waddle on Wednesday after being introduced by the Broncos. “Everyone has been welcoming. It’s been great.”

It was a slow start to free agency for the Broncos, but the the vibes are immaculate in Denver after landing a dynamic playmaker in Waddle.
