The Denver Broncos are about to start rookie minicamp in an attempt to see just how good the players they drafted can be. Well, it's more about getting them acclimated to the way things work, installing the playbook, and other such things.
But it's also fun to try and guess how good a player will be based on one clip of a player doing drills—you know, the usual overreaction everyone does.
But while we were busy doing that, the Broncos decided to make two roster moves, and they are not roster moves people should be happy about. They released two players, which means two players now do not have jobs.
On Friday, the Broncos revealed they were releasing Phillip Dorsett, who played for the Broncos last season, and has played for the Las Vegas Raiders as well. With the drafting of Troy Franklin, and the undrafted free agent wide receivers the Broncos brought in, they like what they see there, more.
They also released nose tackle Rashard Lawrence, who has played in the league for three years, all three with the Arizona Cardinals, and will easily find himself with another job soon.
