The Denver Broncos finally have one thing going their way, and it is the thing that matters most right now – the search for their new head coach.
Per to a new report, the Denver Broncos are favorites to land one big-named head coach, one that I think most everyone wants, but never knew how realistic it would be to get the guy.
That's right, there is a report out there that Denver is the favorite to land Sean Payton.
According to Mark Maske of The Washington Post, The Broncos appear to be the front-runner for Sean Payton, at least in the early stages of the process. Payton likes the franchise's stable ownership and would be happy to work with Russell Wilson.
The only thing is, I'm not 100% sure how credible this guy is. Yes, he works for a credible company, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is credible.
Either way, if the Broncos could land Payton, I think they could make a run for the playoffs next season. Payton is a great head coach and has proven that with a Super Bowl win.
But, let's be real. Why would the Broncos be the favorites? I mean, they may have the least enticing situation as they don't have much cap space or assets, and are tied to what appears to be a quarterback that isn't what we thought.
This is definitely something to further monitor.
