Broncos reportedly cancel pre-draft visit with prospect that would’ve been a dream fit in Denver
The Denver Broncos’ NFL draft plans changed thanks to their trade for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
The Denver Broncos have reportedly canceled a Top 30 visit with a draft prospect that would’ve been a dream fit in Sean Payton’s offense.
But there’s a good reason why the visit was canceled.
Denver Broncos cancel pre-draft visit with Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion
It was reported last week that Denver had scheduled a Top 30 visit with Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion.
That news came as a bit of a surprise because Concepcion is expected to be a late first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. And the Broncos no longer have a first-round selection after trading the No. 30 overall pick to the Miami Dolphins in the trade for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
According to The Denver Post, the visit with Concepcion has been canceled, due to the trade for Waddle.
“A previously-scheduled Denver visit with possible first-rounder KC Concepcion was canceled after the Waddle deal, a source told The Post,” reported The Denver Post’s Luca Evans.
It makes sense that Denver was interested in Concepcion before the deal for Waddle. The former Texas A&M standout fits the mold of the type of offensive playmaker that Payton loves — he’s a great route runner, he’s great after the catch, he can line up in the backfield, and he’s excellent at finding holes in zone defenses.
When news of the Broncos’ planned Top 30 visit with Concepcion surfaced, there was speculation that Denver was considering trading back into the first round.
That could certainly still happen, but the fact that the visit was canceled seems to indicate that Denver is focusing on other scenarios.
The Broncos’ first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, barring a trade, won’t come until day two (No. 62 overall).
