If you haven’t already heard, the Denver Broncos finally pulled the plug on the Nathaniel Hackett era, as fans and media have been asking for quite some time now.

Hackett was a first time head coach with the Broncos, and after seeing his coaching this season, he likely won’t be an NFL head coach again anytime soon. He now has to re-work his way back up, which is just the nature of the business.

The firing could have easily been done a lot sooner, but if you want to be honest, the 50 point putting by the Los Angeles Rams probably sped up the process.

Now they must start the process of searching for another head coach, which is a lot harder than it may seem, especially given all of the things the Broncos have going against them.

The last head coaching search was conducted by George Paton, the general manager, as the new ownership group wasn’t in Denver yet. This time around it will be a bit different.

“Moving forward, we will carefully evaluate every aspect of our football operations and make whatever changes are necessary to restore this franchise's winning tradition,” new owner and CEO Greg Penner said in his statement.

"I will lead our head coaching search with support from our ownership group and George, whom I have confidence in as our general manager. As we begin the process of selecting our next head coach, we remain focused on playing competitive football to finish the season on a positive note.”

This should be interesting considering the circumstances of everything, but hopefully Penner can find the right man for the job.
