The Denver Broncos did not have their best outing against the Bills on Saturday. That being said, who stood out?
Risers
QB Brett Rypien
Rypien got the majority of the reps abasing the Bills. The offense for the Broncos wasn't flashy, but he was fairly efficient. At the very least, he has made the choice between him or Josh Johnson as the backup QB a bit tougher.
WR Trey Quinn
The shift wideout made a couple of impressive catches. he finished the day with five catches for 47 yards. Quinn plays a role on special teams as well which may help him soldify a roster spot.
K Brandon McManus
McManus doesn't have to prove much to the Broncos anymore, but he was solid again on Saturday. He nailed all three field goals he attempted including one from 55 yards.
Fallers
The Running Backs
This is really not their fault. The defensive struggles simply did not allow them to get much action in the ground game. They ran for just a total of 24 yards combined.
CB Michael Ojemudia
Ojemudia did not play a bad game against the Bills, but he did suffer an injury. With a deep cornerback room for the Broncos, that does make it a bit cloudier about his future. In any case, you never want a guy to get injured in the preseason. The injury prevents him from getting more reps as a depth defensive back to prove that he belongs on the Broncos' roster, which he does.
LB Alex Singleton
Singling him out doesn't explain the whole story. Singleton struggled a bit in coverage during his time on the field on Saturday. That being said, the whole defensive unit did for much of the game. They were dominated in both the run and pass game. The Broncos need him and the rest of the depth linebackers to bounce back.
