Broncos: Russell Wilson seems to be pitching a case to keep one player for next season

The Denver Broncos season has been truly wild, to put it nicely. Some things have happened that I don't think anyone really imagined.

Before the season started, I don't think I would have believed you if you said Melvin Gordon got cut after Javonte William's season ended. But, here we are.

That right there should show how crazy this season has really been. Since then, the Broncos have brought in two running backs, that have worked, that is.

Latavius Murray and Marlon Mack have both been fairly productive since joining the team, and now that begs the question, will either be back next season?

I mean, yeah, Williams and Boone will be on the team, with next year being the last year on Boones' deal, but the Broncos need another running back. I feel like Murray should be the guy they re-sign for next season if they do have to choose from the two.

It sounds like Russell Wilson feels the same way.

"One of my favorite guys I've played with," Wilson said on Wednesday.

In a way, that is very high praise. Look at all of the guys Wilson has played with and you will get a long list of players who are pretty respected around the league.

“Latavius has been a true workhorse. A true leader,” Wilson added.

Murray has been the go-to guy since Gordon was let go, and in a way, he has not disappointed. It seems like every week he is getting more and more comfortable with this offense, too.

He is getting more and more comfortable behind the offensive line, as you can see by the big plays he is breaking off every week, but it seems like now it is happening more often.

Mack has made a few big plays too, and that could very well be the direction they go due to the age difference between the two. However, even though they haven't gotten the same amount of opportunities, and different plays are being called, I'd say Murray has been better.

I think Wilson would agree.
