The Denver Broncos new head coach is already coming in and making a difference the players see every day.

We are at the same stage with the Broncos this offseason that we were at last season as well. This is what we call the honeymoon stage. The marriage with Sean Payton is fresh, and everyone is excited and positive, just like they were with Nathaniel Hackett this time a year ago.

However, this could be different for a few reasons. For starters, Payton has been a head coach before; not only that, but he's won a Super Bowl. However, the biggest attraction for the job is the fact he has already turned a franchise around before – the thing he is being tasked with now.

The New Orleans Saints were in a six-year playoff drought before Payton was hired, and they went 3-13 the year before that. The very next year, Payton's first year, they made the NFC Championship game.

The players are already noticing a big change in the culture and the way things are going in practice. There is one thing in particular that All-Pro safety Justin Simmons has noticed that none of his previous coaches have done.

"Sean has been a pleasure to work with so far," Simmons said on ESPN. "One word that I'd use is he has been really educational. I think the way that Sean has come in, you could tell that he has a certain way he likes to do things, he does it at a high level, and he does it really well. And the practice is the number one thing that I've noticed, as opposed to coaches in years past; the practices have been really educational.

"I mean, he will stop practice and explain why that was good, why that was bad, and explain how that's burned him in the game, or it's helped him in the game, or he's seen how it's burned somebody else or how it's helped somebody else. It really just gives you a picture of how important details are. That's probably been the most eye-opening aspect of coach."

The Broncos have a big season coming up in that they have to show some sort of improvements, and they have to show that they are indeed going in the right direction. Last season they went backward. They made this huge move to get Russell Wilson, hired a new coach, and got worse.

The good thing is that it's hard to be worse than they were last season.

Sean Payton already making one major change for Broncos QB Russell Wilson

There was one major takeaway from today's introductory press conference for new Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton. Change. Change is own the horizon inside the building for the Broncos. Their players will feel it, and fans will probably be happy to hear all of this after last season's debacle with Nathaniel Hackett. One of […]
