The Denver Broncos are coming off their first win of the season, and what a win it was. While it was against the Bears, the team fought through adversity to secure the much-needed victory with a thrilling come-from-behind win.

Russell Wilson is silencing the critics each week and is looking more like the QB who played for the Seahawks than whatever showed up on the field for the team last season.

Unfortunately, a slew of injuries has derailed this team, making each game even more difficult. Key players on both sides of the ball have missed time already in this short NFL season.

But fear not! Payton has brought in some reinforcements for the offense, allowing some key depth at the WR position, and reuniting Payton with a familiar face from his days with the New Orleans Saints.

Mike Klis, from 9News, reported that the team has signed WR Tre'Quan Smith, a practice squad veteran. Smith has a history with not only Payton but with Joe Lombardi as well.

In his NFL career, Smith has amassed 66 games played in which he's seen 131 receptions for 1,764 yards and 18 touchdowns. The veteran has proven, with his longevity, that he can come in and compete whenever his number is called.

There may not be enough targets to go around as it currently sits, but if there's another injury to the offense (knocks on all pieces of wood in the vicinity) Smith can come in and ball out with Wilson.

The season is long, and having a player whom Payton knows well in his back pocket is huge for the depth of this team.
