The Denver Broncos, off the heels of a thrilling victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, have all eyes on the organization with the trade deadline rapidly approaching. For weeks it has seemed that the team would be sellers coming into the crucial part of the season.

If anyone was wondering what Sean Payton thinks of all the trade rumors and pundits thinking the team is going to be selling the farm and focusing already on next season, think again. Payton quickly dispelled rumors that the team would be shopping, or dealing, just hours before the deadline.

Mike Klis from 9News reported on Payton's comments, "We're not openly or even remotely shopping anyone. Have people called? Sure they have." Payton continued, "Typically the buyer wants the media to know they called. Not the seller."

The head coach was blunt in his messaging, he's not even thinking about it. Payton continued, "So we're preparing right now. I have a Buffalo cutup that I'm going to look at. I'm going to look at the league's touchdowns from yesterday. And I'm sure at some point I'll meet with George (Paton) but we're looking at the next opponent."

Now, surely, this could all be coach speak. Payton doesn't want to show his entire hand and let the league know, "Hey sure! Call up on our guys, no one is off the table." Rather, the head coach is letting the media know it's not anything on his radar and his focus is on getting through the bye week and focusing on the upcoming game against Buffalo.

Denver has been in the rumor mill for months surrounding multiple players. From Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton to even Justin Simmons, many believe the team could get a high draft premium for these players, especially if the team looks to be struggling.

The win over the Chiefs may have changed the tune of the front office and their approach coming into the deadline. Could this all be smoke and mirrors or is Payton serious about the team staying put with the roster they have on hand?

Luckily, we won't have to wait long to see if Payton was just trying to throw the media off his trail on potential trade candidates.
