Broncos' starter is not to blame in loss for once

The Denver Broncos offense was downright horrendous on Thursday Night Football. It may have been the worst offense we have seen this year. No, really, this offense may be ranked dead last in the league.
They could not score a touchdown. That's all that really needs to be said. The last time this team didn't score a touchdown at home, excluding the no-quarterback game, was in 2016 against the Patriots.
It's just so bad, and the worst part is, I don't think they can fix that this year with who they have on the team. It feels like this will be a learning year where the team maybe finished with a winning record. But if they play like they did last night, that may not happen either.
I will say this. Last week there was one guy being blamed for alot of the problems on offense. This week he definitely stepped up and played better. This time, it wasn't his fault.
Struggling player upped his game for the Broncos
Last week Melvin Gordon fumbled away the ball that ultimately went back for a touchdown, making it the Raiders' first defensive touchdown in three years. He was not happy at all about his performance, and no one else was either. It also didn't help that Javonte Williams tore his ACL that game and would be done for the year.
He was so upset after the game, that he left the media presser when asked about how frustrated he was.
This game was a bit different for Gordon. Not only did we see him not fumble and hold onto the ball a lot better, but we also saw him run the ball better and catch passes.
Gordon finished Thursday Night Football with 15 carried for 54 yards, which isn't amazing, but it's not bad. In the passing game, he caught three passes on three targets for 49 yards. In other words, he had over 100 yards from scrimmage.
There are a lot of people we can blame for how poor the offense is and was on Thursday night. I don't believe Gordon is one of those people, as I think he definitely played better than his expectations.
Everyone thought he was going to have a terrible game or a duplicate of last week. And, that just wasn't the case. With Williams out, we will need to see more of that this year.
