Broncos' starter makes a promise after dreadful loss to Rams

The Denver Broncos may have just lost their worst game ever. Well, I'm sure there are others out there that are worse than this one, but it is definitely up there.
I mean, both teams were 4-10, but after the final whistle blew, we could tell which team was worse despite the records. The Rams have been terrible this year, but they hung 51 points on the Broncos.
The Rams were the 31st offense entering Sunday, with the Broncos being the 32nd-ranked offense. The Broncos were a top-three defense in the league, and the best red zone defense in the NFL.
None of those rankings or numbers mattered, with the final score being 51-14 in favor of Los Angeles.
The worst part is, this was by far Russell Wilson's worst game of the season, and one of the worst games of his career, in my opinion. But after the game, he made what seemed to be a promise.
"A lot needs to happen," Wilson said after the game. "No. 1 is I need to play to the standard that I expect to play to…we're at a low moment right now. I don't fear low moments. When I've experienced low moments, I've always come through the other side…"
Number one is certainly correct. Wilson is the guy this team invested their future in, and a lot of money, but we knew that already. What we didn't know is that we would be seeing a guy that we have never seen before, because this isn't the same guy we saw in Seattle.
The Broncos need to figure out what they are going to do for next season, and that starts with the end of this season and the off-season. No matter what, whether the fans like it or not, the reality is the Broncos starting quarterback will be Wilson unless he is injured.
They cannot afford to trade him, cut him, or not play him. So the rest of the season needs to be about figuring out what will work best with him at the helm and building the team around that because whatever this was, isn't it.
Either way, it sounds like Wilson is making a promise he may not be able to keep. He says he always comes through the other side, which would imply that he will. Sounds like a promise to me, one that he may not be able to keep.
