The Denver Broncos had the worst of luck last season, as they lost one of their better offensive-skilled players before the season even started. In what was supposed to be a hyped-up season for the Broncos ended up being a terrible one, and the injury of Tim Patrick for the season certainly didn't help.

Patrick was coming off of two career years and even started to show a connection with Russell Wilson in training camp that was special. But, he came down on his leg wrong and tore his ACL.

There is a reason he started getting as good as he was. He was a guy that people started to recognize. He went from an undrafted receiver to a guy teams had to game plan for. He says there is one main reason why.

"Zach Azzanni [receivers coach last year for Denver], he just made me focus on the detailed things," Tim Patrick said on the Cut To It Podcast with Steve Smith Sr. "I was just a guy out there that was just playing with talent and he made me really focus in on the details of route running, the details of blocking and, I think that's what took my game to the next level because he always harped on the details and he always harped on the routine and once I got in my routine and started focusing on the details, that's when I just started going up."

The Broncos are going to love having Patrick back next season, as he will provide another weapon for Wilson to go to in this new Sean Payton offense.

Not only did they not have him at all last season, but they didn't have a guy that replaced what he did. They didn't have another guy besides Sutton, who plays the same way. This will give Wilson another guy to go to after they establish the play-action game.

You could see the difference in his game, his work habits, and just the way he carried himself with what Azzanni was doing for him. It will be interesting to see how he is without him in 2023.
